New York Madness is a raw and unpredictable show of short plays by an ensemble of playwrights presented fully staged with scripts in hand. They write a short play and cast it, rehearse it, and bring it in on its feet. The collected works create a kaleidoscope of cultural moments reflecting this moment in time, framed by a theme that is chosen by the Featured Guest Playwright. The primary goal of Madness is the exploration of modern American Playwriting through the use of theatrical storytelling. Visit nymadness.com.
Lone Star Theatre is dedicated to creating innovative and fresh pieces of theatre for New Yorkers brought to you by Texans. Whether a play is by a Texas playwright, or features Texas talent and ingenuity, Lone Star Theatre aims to bring entertaining theatrical events that will whisk the audience away from city life. NY Madness is excited to work with David Davila (Artistic Director), Emily Comisar (Managing Director) and Benjamin Wright (Marketing Director). Go to www.lonestartheatre.com.
Ego Actus, one of the most vibrant and prolific theatre companies in the independent theatre scene. Ego Actus is dedicated to doing art for art's sake. NYM is excited to work with Founders Joan Kane and Bruce A! Kraemer. Go online at www.egoactus.com.
The Navigators' mission is to produce Science Fiction Theater with a clear feminist perspective. They are dedicated to elevating female driven stories in a genre dominated by men by empowering women playwrights, producers, directors, designers, and actors in our productions. We seek to engage new audiences, realize new and daring realities, and expand the boundaries of what theater can achieve by fully exploring sci-fi on stage. NY Madness is excited to work with Bella Boynton (Artistic Director and Playwright), Ariel Francoeur (Producing Director and Resident Director) and Melina Neves (Literary Manager and Resident Actor). FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade is a theater development group with a focus on new work that produces a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater every season.
