New Wave Theater Collective presents Alena Smith's "The New Sincerity" for five performances only, November 17-19, at Desotelle Studios Nubox Theater, 300 W. 43rd Street, in the Times Square Arts Center.
Chris Morrissey directs this satirical one act about truthfulness in the media, and the difference between skillful self-promotion and sincere action.
In the midst of an Occupy-style movement, Rose Spencer has just achieved the ultimate young-intellectual's dream: becoming a staff writer for this prestigious New York literary/criticism journal. She sees a way to participate in what may be the defining activist moment for her generation. "The New Sincerity" is a poignant comedy about fighting for the greater good...whilst tweeting about it.
