A revised adaptation of Joe Orton's controversial and groundbreaking first play ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE is set to premiere in the UK this June in a new student production according to a new report.
The new production will utilize elements referenced in various correspondence, notes and letters left by Orton following his death in 1967.
Among the changes, the titular character will be played as 17 as opposed to 20, as Orton originally intentioned at the time of its premiere but which was deemed unseemly given the nature of the play.
Of note, the Leicester University Theatre - where Orton's archives are kept, shepherded by Dr. Emma Parker - is set to stage the new version of ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE this June.
