Fort Caspar Museum is starting a new monthly program called "Fremont Story Hour." Join us as we read a children's book aloud, followed by an art project inspired by the story. Program topics will explore different aspects of Wyoming history, including pioneers, wildlife, pre-historic times, Native American legends, and more.
Join us on Saturday, September 9th from 3:00 to 4:00pm for the first story hour on the book "Papa and the Pioneer Quilt." This program is free with Museum admission; no reservations are necessary, but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
"Papa and the Pioneer Quilt" is by Jean Van Leeuwen. The description reads: "Rebecca's papa has wandering feet. He is following his dream and taking the family west on the Oregon Trail-across prairies, rivers, and mountains. Along the way, Rebecca begins collecting pieces of cloth to make a quilt for their new home."
Upcoming Fremont Story Hour dates and titles are: "Dream Wolf" on October 14th, "The Hole Story" on November 11th, and "Coyote Steals Fire" on December 9th.
Fort Caspar Museum's hours in September are daily 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and admission prices are $3 for adults; $2 for youth (ages 13-18 years); free for children (12 years and younger) and for Museum members. Beginning in October, the Museum moves to winter hours which are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, and admission is half price.
