MOZART IN THE JUNGLE is coming back soon!
Brand new performing arts-centric series Mozart in the Jungle was officially picked up by Amazon following its audience popularity earlier this year and filming is now underway on the first season of the show, featuring appearances by Broadway notables Bernadette Peters and CONSTANTINE Maroulis, among others, and a new social media image begins the countdown to the December premiere.
Earlier this year, Maroulis utilized his Facebook account to share a sneak peek at the new season, commenting, "On the set with #JasonSchwartzman today #MozartintheJungle #AmazonOriginals #AmazonPrime #OedipusRocks #Greek thanks for having me back!! Check it out!"

Of note, Peters guest stars alongside Malcolm McDowell in the pilot episode of the new series created by Broadway's own Alex Timbers along with film notables Paul Weitz, Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman, based on the book by Blair Tindall. The pilot also memorably featured Maroulis in a cameo role as hard-rocking musical theatre star.
The official description of Mozart in the Jungle is as follows: "Based on the memoir Mozart in the Jungle by Blair Tindall, Mozart in the Jungle is all about sex, drugs, and classical music. It shows that what happens behind the curtains at the symphony can be just as captivating as what happens on stage. Visit AmazonOriginals.com to see Mozart in the Jungle and the rest of our pilots and help us decide which shows should become a series."
Actors in the pilot episode include: Gael Garcia Bernal, Lola Kirke, Saffron Burrows, Constantine Maroulis, Jennifer Kim, Peter Vack, Bob Dishy, Joshua Bell, Hannah Dunne, Raymond McAnally, Gabriel Millman, Rachel Zeiger-Haag, David Shih, Katie Webber, Brenna Palughi, Samuel Stricklen, Afra Hines and Kaitlin Mesh.
