Michael Allen's play Random Particles of Matter Floating in Space will have its world premiere this month Off-Broadway. Directed by Denyse Owens and produced by Jonathan Elba Productions, the show will begin performances on April 11th at the Sonnet Theatre at the Producers Club, located at 358 West 44th Street.
"Tom is in love with two people: Chloe, his ex-girlfriend and Danny, his current paramour – who is also Chloe's younger brother. Tom and Danny break into Chloe's apartment (believing she's out of town) for a round of beers and a romp in her bed. However, just as the men's love/lust-making comes to a head, Chloe's key finds its way into the apartment door. Through the course of the play, Tom's original vindictive intentions turn into a cry for something he's never before voiced aloud, culminating in his desperate plea, 'Why can't I be happy?,'" state press notes.
The csat features Aaron Haskell, Jonathan Albert and Elba Sette-Camara.
Playwright Michael Allen received his B.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University and his M.F.A. from Actors Studio Drama School. Several of his plays have been produced in New York, including Disintegration, West, Wish, Wonderland and, most recently, Whiz Kid, which appeared as part of The 2006 New York International Fringe Festival. .
