Christina Fragola's new play It Isn't the Moon will have its world premiere on June 14th at Manhattan Source Theatre. It will run through June 29th.

Directed by Rosalyn Coleman Williams and produced by Craig T. Williams, it will star Pennie Diamond Quintana (Loot, the film Bright Lights, Big City), Obie Award-winner Yvette Ganier (Jitney for The National Theatre in the UK and Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Gem of the Ocean at the Goodman Theatre, Breath Boom at Playwrights Horizons) and Ian White (The Seagull at Trinity Rep, readings at Trinity Rep, The Public Theater, Jewish Theatre of New York).

It Isn't the Moon "is a death-defying roller-coaster ride thinly disguised as a well-made play that capriciously pits two educated and otherwise beautiful women against each other in what can only be termed a heavy weight championship of the mind. One is a therapist who is so ferociously busy with surviving the bout that we never even learn her name. The other is a Machiavellian marauder whose brother called her Cassie before he violently disappeared from the face of her earth," state press notes.

The production has been designed by Tom Powers (scenery) and Anita Ellis (costumes).

Manhattan Theatre Source is located at 177 MacDougal Street - at Washington Square Park. Tickets are $18. Call 212-868-4444 or visit www.smarttix.com for reservations.
