Main Street Theater kicks off 2019 with the unconventional new comedy The Secretary by Kyle John Schmidt. MST's marks the Second Production of the play which tells the offbeat story of a small town, its wacky residents, and guns with a mind of their own!

The production opens Saturday night, January 19 at 7:30pm and runs through February 10 at MST - Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd. Performances are Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $36 - $48, depending on date, section, and availability. All tickets are on sale via phone at 713.524.6706 or online at MainStreetTheater.com.

The playwright, who now resides in Austin, will join audiences Sunday, January 27 for a post-show discussion.

Ruby runs a small-town gun company, manufacturing products like "The Bridesmaid," "The Babysitter," and "The Mallwalker," But what happens when guns start going off all over town--and no one's pulling the trigger?!! The Secretary is a comedy for a world that's up in arms!

The Secretary had its world premiere in Austin last season. Main Street's production is the second production of the play to date. The cast includes Elizabeth Marshall Black, Alice Gatling, Briana Resa, Celeste Roberts, Skyler Sinclair, and Bree Welch.

Julia Traber, who previously directed RFK for Main Street, returns as director of The Secretary. Alice Gatling (Woof!, Intimate Apparel, Caroline, or Change) plays Ruby. Bree Welch (recently Marie Antoinette in MST's The Revolutionists) is Lorrie. Celeste Roberts (Men On Boats, Copenhagen, Master Class, among many others) is the school secretary, Shirley. Elizabeth Marshall Black (The Book of Will, Silent Sky, among others) is Ruby's office manager, Janelle. Skyler Sinclair (Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley) plays Janelle's half-sister, April. Briana Resa (Native Gardens) is Lorrie's cousin, Brandy. A motley crew, without a doubt!

The production design team includes Ryan McGettigan (Set Design), J. Mitchell Cronin (Lighting Design), Macy Lyne (Costume Design), Yezminne Zepeda (Sound Design), and Rodney Walsworth (Properties Design). Julie Marie Paré is the production stage manager.
