Fat Kid Rules The World, (www.FatKidRulesTheMusical.com) a new musical with book and lyrics by Jay Falzone (Cooking With the Calamari Sisters), music and additional lyrics by Matt Gumley (Elf) and additional music by Evan Jay Newman (American Idiot International tour Musical Director), will be performed at invitation-only developmental presentation on Monday, October 29 at 7pm, Tuesday, October 30 at 11am and 3pm and Wednesday, October 31 at 11am at the Royal Family Performing Arts Space (145 W. 46th Street, 3rd Floor). Based on the novel by K.L Going, Fat Kid Rules The World is directed by Marc Eardley (Really Bad Things)and executive produced by Dancing Play Productions.

It's 2003 in New York City and bullied fat kid, Troy Billings, is standing on the yellow line on a subway platform at the end of his rope. Just as he's about to throw himself in front of the F train, semi-homeless and manipulative punk rock guitarist Curt MacCrae stops him from jumping on the tracks. The duo begins their unlikely kinship by forming a punk rock band, though Troy has just a few problems: His father has yet to figure out how to parent his boys after the death of his wife, his younger brother Dayle is an unrelenting bully, and Troy eats his feelings.

Battling his own addiction and an abusive family life, Curt is desperate to keep his band together and won't let Troy's minor little setbacks stop him. Will these two misfits find a way to become the hottest punk rock band the Lower East Side has ever seen?

Fat Kid Rules The World features Orchestrations/Arrangements/Music Supervision by Ethan Popp (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, "The Greatest Showman") and Zachary Dietz (School of Rock), choreography by Camille A. Brown (Once On This Island), costume design by Gregory Gale (Rock of Ages), lighting design by Aaron Porter (associate - Waitress), sound design by Sam Kusnetz (Bikeman), casting by Robin Carus, and musical direction by James Ross Dobinson (The View UpStairs). Molly Sheaand Abigail Strange are the stage managers.

The cast includes: Trey Ellett (Amelie), Matt Gumley (Elf), Kurt Hellerich (Tink!), Mitchell Jarvis (Getting the Band Back Together), Pilar Martinez (Sleeping Beauty), Michael Nigro ("The Sound of Music Live!"), Emerson Steele (Violet), Cole Ragsdale (Gigantic), Scott Redmond (Freedom Riders), Shea Renne (Allegiance), Laura Shoop (She Loves Me),with Taylor Blackman (Tarzan), Briana Brooks (Beauty and the Beast), Sophia Introna (In The Heights), and Chris Medlin (Mean Girls).

"In this day and age, with what is happening around us, it is so important to be comfortable with who we are, and not about what society tells us to be," said director Marc Eardley. "Fat Kid Rules the World is ultimately about friendship, acceptance and about the family we choose."
