The story of Lewis and Clark's expedition to the Pacific Ocean is one that we've all heard a million times, so why bother telling the same old story again? A new musical called Great Frontier: A Poorly Researched Musical About Lewis and Clark has been doing just that at the 2017 New York Theatre Festival's Summerfest.

After three incredibly well received performances at the festival this past July, the cast and crew of Great Frontier are excited to announce that due to popular demand they have been given a 4th encore performance date on Monday, August 7th at 6:15pm.

Great Frontier was created by comedians, Kevin Froleiks and Patrick J. Reilly, who share a love of musical theatre, sketch comedy, and Mel Brooks. These influences can be seen throughout this charming tale of two janitors who stumble into an opportunity to discover the Pacific Ocean and make America the greatest country in the world. This ridiculous farce, which makes no effort to be even remotely historically accurate, has itself discovered something new and exciting by taking the major players of the Lewis and Clark expedition and completely turning them on their heads, from a Meriwether Lewis who is desperate to prove to his father that he's more than just a garbage man, to a Thomas Jefferson who is so lazy that he's determined keep America from expanding and making his job as president more difficult.

This is Great Frontier's New York City debut, and audiences are absolutely loving it. After a sold out performance on July 28th, audience member, Will Carey, said, " The songs are ridiculously catchy! I laughed a lot and left humming!" Bob Gurnett, who also attended the sold out performance, added, "My face hurt from laughing. I can't say enough good things about this."

Amy Bilancini, who saw the opening night performance on July 24th, said, "Pat and Kevin poured a lot of work into this show and it is obvious from the second the lights come up. You'll probably regret it forever if you don't get a ticket for the encore performance," and Sarah Kennedy, who also attended the July 24th performance, raved, "The whole thing is brilliant from beginning to end! I loved it!"

Kevin, Patrick, and the rest of the cast and crew are very excited to have the chance to perform this show one more time on the wonderful Hudson Guild Theatre stage. With any luck, this show will find a new home soon, but until then August 7th will be your last chance to see this hilarious new musical and hear the original cast sing the sixteen original songs together.

Tickets are on sale now for Great Frontier on August 7, 2017 at 6:15pm. The Hudson Guild Theatre is located at 441 W. 26th Street, New York, NY 10001. Tickets can be purchased today by visiting www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2942892.
