From the creators of the "The Great Black Way", comes their next series #UNBOOKED: a new comedic series about the un-fabulous life of the un-employed actor. EPOCH CREATIVE NYC has paired with Answers 4 Dancers and Hamilton's BranDon Hudson to create this new series.
New York, NY: On Monday, January 30, 2017 at 8am Epoch Creative NYC a local non-profit specializing in the creation and production of work of artists of color will release their newest comedic series entitled "#UNBOOKED". This is their second series fully crafted by a creative team of all artist of color. Their first series, "The Great Black Way" gained over 250k views and was an official selection for The New Ohio Theatre's NY Indie Theatre Film Festival.
The Creators of "The Great Black Way" & "#UNBOOKED", Nikko Kimzin and NaTonia Monét met on the International Tour of West Side Story and shared a passion for creating greater opportunities for artists of color and began writing. To produce this series EPOCH CREATIVE NYC has teamed up with Answers 4 Dancers and Hamilton's BranDon Hudson. "Our hope in joining forces with Answers 4 Dancers and Broadway talent like BranDon Hudson is to encourage other marginalized artists to create new narratives for themselves and others." This spring, EPOCH CREATIVE NYC will also release a new short film entitled LA MORENA featuring Hamilton's Ricardo A. Zayas and Samantha Barriento (Alvin Ailey II). This film tells the story of a Latina who loses her identity in a new relationship only to re-discover her strength through the matriarchs of her family. This film is intended for film festival circuits.
