The new Broadway production of the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning musical A Chorus Line will be recorded by Masterworks Broadway on Monday, August 14, at Skywalker Sound Studio in Marin County, CA.
The New Broadway Cast Recording will include the bonus track, "The Overture That Never Was," specially arranged for this album and performed on two pianos by
Marvin Hamlisch. In addition, "And," a previously unrecorded musical number, will be available as an exclusive iTunes download. The New Broadway Cast recording of the 2006 production of

Jonathan Tunick for Masterworks Broadway and available in stores everywhere Tuesday, October 3, 2006.
A Chorus Line is currently playing at San Francisco's Curran Theatre where it opened Wednesday, August 2, 2006; it plays through Saturday, September 2, 2006.
A Chorus Line returns to the heart of Broadway at the
Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 W. 45th St) Monday, September 18, and will open on Thursday, October 5, 2006.

The original production of
A Chorus Line opened at the Public Theater's Newman Theatre on May 21, 1975 and transferred to Broadway's Shubert Theatre on July 25th, opening there on October 19th of that year. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Score and Book, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. It ran for nearly 15 years, closing on April 28, 1990 after 6,137 performances.
A Chorus Line remains the longest running American musical in Broadway history.

In previews, performances will be Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m., with matinee performances on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. (The week of September 18, the show will play Monday rather than Tuesday.)
