The awards will be presented on October 25th at New York's Tavern on the Green restaurant. The award is given annually to "institutions, individuals and/or organizations that have
demonstrated extraordinary achievement in theatre, but are not eligible
in any of the established Tony Award categories," according to the Tonys website.Neufeld, who once was a general manager and producer for over 20 years, is now the head of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, while TCG is "the national
organization for the American theatre, (that) offers a wide array of services
in line with its mission: to strengthen, nurture and promote the
professional not-for-profit American theatre," according to the organization's website.Broadway
Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading
industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant making
organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response from the
American Theatre community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By

BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States.
