What are you doing this summer to advance your career? Don't let the recession stop your journey. No money is not a reason not to work on your craft and be the actor you would like to be. What better tool to sharpen than how you package and present yourself?
Are you aware of how you are perceived in the audition room? Can you be yourself or do nerves take over? Do you have a solid and consistent way of warming up and preparing for auditions? How good are your audition pieces? Do you feel confident in your choices? Do they fit YOU?
On Sunday, July 12th from 12 to 4pm, Nettles Artists Collective will be giving a comprehensive and affordable auditioning workshop. Everyone will work and everyone will walk out feeling more confident about who they are as an artist and how to make that come across.
The cost is $50 if you register by July 7th and $65 after that. Participation is limited to 12 participants to allow everyone time to work. Sign up and make sure that even in "bad times" you are being good to your inner artist. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity!
This workshop is produced by Nettles Artists Collective and led by Sandie Luna and Debora Balardini. Sandie Luna is an actress, director and producer. She is a member of the Director's Lab at Iati Theater, has been a cast member of the off-Broadway hit Platanos & Collard Greens for the last 4 years, has directed a one-woman show with residency at Mabou Mines, and most recently along with Debora, produced the workshop PanNYC, where the legendary artists Enrique Pardo and Linda Wise from Paris conducted training for NY actors on Roy Hart voice technique and Choreographic Theater. Debora Balardini has been acting and dancing for over 20 years and is currently body-movement director for East 3rd Ensemble. Along with developing a new one-woman show, she is also an avid researcher of body and movement for actors.
The Nettles are a group of interdisciplinary and culturally diverse artists exchanging expertise and experiences to enrich their professional careers. They work together as a troupe writing, directing, producing, and acting in all of their works. They are evolving with each new piece and their works are helping define who and what they are.
