Naughton & Into the Weeds Cast Set for 'Perfect Evening'

James Naughton and the cast of Into the Weeds have been invited to perform One Big Team at a "Perfect Evening" - a gala celebrating the 50th anniversary of Don Larsen's legendary World Series Perfect Game. 

The gala, which will be hosted by New York Yankees play-by-play announcer Michael Kay, will take place on Saturday, November 4th at 6 PM at the New York Marriott Marquis. Confirmed special guests include Don Larsen, Yogi Berra, Graig Nettles, Goose Gossage, Joe Girardi, Jim Leyritz, Mickey Rivers, Joe Pepitone, Bob Feller, Andy Hawkins, David Cone, Len Barker, John Franco, Roy White, LeRoy Neiman, and Roy Firestone. 

The D. Benjamen Brown Company is currently presenting Dog Run Rep production of the musical revue Into the Weeds– Selections from the Bill Weeden Songbook for an open-ended run at The West Bank Café (407 West 42nd Street at 9th Avenue).  .

Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Felicia Finley (The Wedding Singer), Annie Golden (Mimi Le Duck) and Naughton (Chicago) have previously appeared as guest stars in Into the Weeds, which is also continuing its post-theatre ticket policy of free admission and a special discount menu to all Broadway performers.

Into the Weeds is conceived and directed by Jeff Cohen.  It features the following cast: Ted Anderson, Melissa Center, Grey Garrett, Hilary Mann, Kristen Rozanski, John Paul Skocik, Michael Vaccaro, Eddie Varley, Amanda Weeden, Bill Weeden & John Weisenburger.  The show features the premiere of the New York Yankees song "One Big Team." 

Into the Weeds "is an eclectic sampling of songs written and performed over the last forty years by composer/performer Bill Weeden and a host of friends and collaborators including Sally Fay, Ethan Fein and David Finkle," state press materials.  The team of Weeden, Finkle and Fay won the 1980 NACCA Award (which later became the MAC) as Best Cabaret Comedy Group.  Their musical Move It and It's Yours was named New Jersey's  "Best New Musical" in 1998.  Several of their songs are featured in Martin Charnin's popular The No-Frills Revue. 

The show's October schedule is: Saturday 10/7 at 11pm, Sunday 10/15 at 2pm, Saturday 10/21 at 5pm and Saturday 10/28 at 11pm.  Admission is $15 cover plus a two-drink minimum.  For reservations, call 212-695-6909
