National Portrait Gallery Seeking Future Docents

Interested in becoming a docent for the National Portrait Gallery?

Now's your chance to join our dedicated docent team! We are seeking a vibrant, diverse group of volunteers to work with visitors in our galleries.

Learn how to give tours of our collection and help visitors take an in-depth look at what we have to offer. The only prerequisite is an enthusiasm for history, art and people.

Volunteer hours may include some weekdays, weekends and evenings. An eight-week training session will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning in March.
