In celebration of a major gift to its collection of more than 100 portraits created by renowned photographer Yousuf Karsh, the National Portrait Gallery will present the exhibition "Yousuf Karsh: American Portraits."
This exhibition will feature iconic photographs of Americans who have distinguished themselves in fields as diverse as business, medicine, entertainment, politics and the arts. Among the portraits to be included are those of artist Georgia O'Keeffe, physician and virologist Jonas Salk, singer Marian Anderson, actress Grace Kelly, businesswoman Elizabeth Arden, architect I. M. Pei and first lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
The National Portrait Gallery has extended its deadline for its Teen Portrait Competitionfrom Oct. 18 to Nov. 15. The competition is open to teens from ages 13 to 17.

Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company-Dance Performance Premier and Talk-back Session | Nov. 16, 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Kogod Courtyard. Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company will perform "Homage." Visitors are invited to the premier performance of the first of two works he will create in the space. A question-and-answer session will follow the performance in the courtyard.
