The holiday season kicks off with a nostalgic celebration of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra at the popular Jazz at Lincoln Center series. Master pianist Monty Alexander has created a one-of-a-kind holiday event celebrating the music of two of the world’s most celebrated artists in a very special theatrical and concert performance on Friday and Saturday, December 9-10 at 7:30pm and 9:30pm at Lincoln Center. Nothing says holidays like the songs made famous by Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. Their holiday songs and versions of traditional melodies remain some of the world’s most requested music of the season.

Alexander leads a heartfelt exploration of two of these musical heroes with the assistance of 21-year-old vocal phenomena James De Frances and veteran jazz artist Allan Harris performing the respective roles of Sinatra and Cole. . It was Frank Sinatra and pal Jilly Rizzo who first brought Alexander to New York while in his late teens. But prior to that adventure, Alexander, as a boy in his native Jamaica imitated Nat King Cole and later went on to play on the classic tribute album Unforgettable.

Guitarist Russell Malone and saxophonist Houston Person will also join Alexander for an evening of unforgettable holiday treasures.
