Comedian/actress/writer NANCY REDMAN has received the 2011 United Solo Best Comedian for her play 'CLUTTER: I'm Saving My Life and It's Killing Me', directed by Austin Pendleton.
"Take a morsel of Woody Allen's insecurities, a pinch of Richard Lewis's panaroia, a dollop of Jackie Mason's delivery, and a sprinkling of the autistic eccentricities in Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man....Now drop those ingredients into a pot already filled with neuroses, Stir gently over a simmering boil, and what you get is a one-woman show from veteran comedian Nancy Redman." Stephen Hanks,
Times Square Chronicle on-line, October 28, 2011
"Redman, in a wonderful collaboration with director Austin Pendleton, delivers a powerful, funny, and poignant performance as a woman who finds meaning in every scrap of paper she's ever had............Redman has complete control over CLUTTER and its themes, and delivers a hilarious, thoughtful evening of theater."

Nancy Redman has been named "Best Comedian" on the 2011 United Solo Festival for her brilliant performances in her one-woman show "CLUTTER: I'm Saving My Life and It's Killing Me," directed by Austin Pendleton. Ms. Redman premiered her show on the 2010 United Solo Festival and is one of the few participants invited back for two encore performances this year.
Winners were announced on November 20, at the closing ceremony of the 2011 United Solo Festival, which featured 77 productions during the fall season, presented at Theatre Row on 42nd Street. A crowd of solo artists, special guests, and contributors packed the theater as Bill Bowers, the host and a member of the United Solo Academy, announced the award winners.
Austin Pendleton (who received a second Best Directing Award this year) was honored last year with the Best Directing Award 2010 for "CLUTTER."
