Name of Bird's Open Studios continue into 2019!
This is Name of Bird's Ensemble Theatre's 3rd year offering Open Studios in Michael Chekhov and Stanislavsky Acting Technique in Midtown Manhattan!

Studios and workshops at Name of Bird (named after The Seagull) are led by certified teachers of the Michael Chekhov Technique through The Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium, including Bevin Bell-Hall (co-founder), Alan Matthew Miller, Patricia Legare, Kathryn Metzger and Tim Allen.
Studios are every second Sunday, January through May to teach the tools of the Michael Chekhov technique and explore Fantastic Psycho-Physical Realism. Work in studio informs Name of Bird's productions and visa versa. Recent productions include an NYC run of Macbeth:Two Truths at Town Stages in Tribeca and an International Academic Tour of Constellations by Nick Payne.
No experience is necessary, studios are truly open level.
Chekhov and Stanislavsky techniques are out loud and on your feet! Please wear clothing that allows for free and expressive movement and prepare to work barefoot. Also, a water bottle is recommended, as is a memorized monologue, poem, song lyrics or a few lines of text that inspire you.
While studios are free and open to anyone, there is a suggested $15 donation per studio and gladly accept what you can afford or wish to contribute. Cash or debit/credit card donations after studio or on: www.nameofbird.com/contact
