[title of show], one of the breakout hits of the 2004 New York Musical Theatre Festival will be performed at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street) from September 11th through September 27th.

Presented by Bridge Club Productions and staged by Tony Award-nominee Michael Berresse (The Light in the Piazza, Kiss Me, Kate, Chicago), "[title of show] is a unique and authentic glimpse into the creative process and just what it takes to get a show from conception to reality. Two struggling writers, Jeff and Hunter, try to write and submit a show to The New York Musical Theatre Festival, in hopes of getting discovered and optioned for a commercial run. What happens when they race to meet the impending deadline? Will Festival audiences and critics embrace the show? Will someone with money want to option them? And if they do, can they keep their beloved project in tact, or will their cast and their show crumble under the pressure?," query production notes.

Jeff Bowen (who wrote the music and lyrics) and Hunter Bell (who penned the book) will star as the two beleaguered scribes, while musical arrangements and direction will be provided by Larry Pressgrove. Susan Blackwell (off-Bway's The Heidi Chronicles, "The Sopranos") and Heidi Blickenstaff (The Full Monty, Jekyll & Hyde) will also be featured in the show.

Bowen has composed music for the Avant Garde-Arama series at PS 122, Sparklefest 2000 at Dixon Place, and the film Boat Mime. His stage credits include The Who's Tommy, The Diviners, and The Doctor In Spite of Himself.  Bell was a 2003 finalist in Warner Brother's Comedy Writers' Workshop. He has helped develop new works at the Dramatists Guild, Irish Rep, PS 122, Goodspeed/Chester, and MTC. As an actor, he has performed at the St. Louis Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, The MUNY, ALLIANCE THEATRE, Coconut Grove, and Papermill Playhouse.

Bridge Club Productions is a Resident Theatre Company of manhattan theatre source (
