The Broadway League has just issued the following statement "As of now, there will be no cancellations for today's performances on Broadway.

"Grab your snowboots and enjoy the hot shows on Broadway - it's a great time to get good seats!" commented Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League. "The Great White Way is not letting the white snow outside affect the musicals and plays in its theatres."

If patrons cannot get to the show, they should contact their point of purchase for exchange information. "

Despite heavy snow already having hit and more on the way to the New York City area, all daytime and evening events on Wednesday February 10 are performing as scheduled.

As "the show must go on", multiple shows, including HAIR are offering special "Snow Day" discounts and it's likely that even Broadway's hottest shows will all have tickets available for today's performances.

Many travel advisories are in effect, so those planning to travel into and around the city should use caution and public transportation wherever possible.

The latest winter storm alert from the National Weather Center for the New York City area states that

... BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING... WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST THURSDAY.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH SLEET AT TIMES THIS MORNING... BUT WILL OTHERWISE BE HEAVY AT TIMES DURING THE DAY... WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR POSSIBLE. SOME SOUTH COASTAL LOCATIONS COULD MIX WITH RAIN THIS MORNING.

BY THE TIME SNOW ENDS TONIGHT... TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 10 TO 16 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED.

AS THE STORM INTENSIFIES... NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE AND BECOME QUITE STRONG AND GUSTY BY AFTERNOON. GUSTS OF 35 TO 40 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW... WITH BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ALONG WITH POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES... AGAIN MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING. WINDS TURN TO THE NORTH BY TONIGHT.
