NYC Hosts First Ever Pet POP-UP Adoption Shop

After a successful opening reception on November 2 at the Roger Smith POP-UP Shop, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals (www.AnimalAllianceNYC.org) is gearing up for an exciting month full of pet adoptions and quality products on sale for our furry friends. As the first pet POP-UP in the country, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals has partnered with Metro Paws, Stella & Chewy's, Sam & Tasha, Sturdi Products, and Yeowww! Catnip® to sell products that both pets and their parents can appreciate. Throughout the month of November, adorable and adoptable pets will be featured each day in the Roger Smith POP-UP shop. On Wednesdays throughout the month, additional adoptable dogs and cats will be featured on the Mayor's Alliance adoption van, which will be parked curbside from 5 - 8 pm. Among the represented affiliate rescue groups are Dog Habitat Rescue, KittyKind, Metropolitan Maltese Rescue, Picasso Veterinary Fund® of the Mayor's Alliance, Posh Pets Rescue, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, and others. In addition to promoting pet rescue and adoption, guests are encouraged to shop the available pet products, as ten percent of all the proceeds from products sold in the shop will benefit the Mayor's Alliance and participating rescue groups.
Shoppers can come by every day from 11 am to 7 pm to purchase products and find the perfect dog or cat to bring into their forever home. Pet adoption hours are Noon-6 pm on weekdays and Noon-5 pm on weekends. Additionally, there are plenty of fun events going on throughout the month for pet lovers and their furry friends to attend. Each Wednesday in November (except Wednesday, November 23rd - the night before Thanksgiving) the Mayor's Alliance will have their new adoption van from the Petco Foundation in front of the store and full of adoptable pets.

On Tuesday, November 15, from 5 - 8 pm, there will be a special trunk show with Sam & Tasha. Meet fashion illustrator Jennifer Lilya (www.jenniferlilya.com) on November 9 or November 30, as she will be sketching people and pets for donations to raise money for the associated pet shelters. If you're looking for the best deals in town on Black Friday, November 25, come out to the POP-UP Shop between 10 am - 7 pm to receive a free dog or cat toy with any $10 purchase. On Saturday, November 26 from 12-4 pm, don't miss the Wags & Tags Trunk Show - learn more at www.wagsandtags.com. Additionally, on Sunday, November 27 from 2 - 6 pm, author Olga Horvat will be hosting a book-signing event for her recent release of Paranormal Pooch.
