The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation Present the second annual Healthy Living Series, which promotes a healthier way of life on April 22. Attendees can receive a free body mass index screening followed by "Exercise Your Heart," through a lecture conducted by Dr. Margaret L. Furman. Dr. Furman is the Director of Preventive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation at Beth Israel Medical Center and Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
A Q&A session will follow and the day's event will conclude with a fitness activity conducted by certified personal trainer Joanne Hutchins. Hutchins was recently featured in Newsday speaking about Moms Who Kick, a project founded by Hutchins and Sylvie Gaeckler in 2008. The Healthy Living Series is presented by Continuum Health Partners and NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. This event is FREE and open to the public. The Healthy Living Series will take place on Thursday April 22 from 10:45 to 12:45 at Al Oerter Recreation Center, 131-40 Fowler Ave, Queens.
