In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Chinatown restaurants mobilized and created the Second Annual Chinatown Restaurant Week from March 16 to 31, 2013, which offers $20.13 lunch and dinner specials that include the flavorful highlights of Shanghai, Sichuan, Hanoi, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Peking cuisines some with European, French, Italian, Mexican, and American influences.

"Hurricane Sandy may have knocked out power, but these participating restaurants, industry leaders, and community groups are taking our power back with the 2013 Chinatown Restaurant Week. Special thanks to our 2013 sponsors for supporting our community: Inca Kola USA, AARP New York, Dr. Lois Jackson - Pediatric Dentistry, and The Law Offices of John Chang. We also would like to extend our appreciation to Haagen-Dazs Chinatown for sponsoring our Reasons to Love Chinatown Now Facebook Contest," said organizer and Chinatown Restaurant Week producer and Kaimen Company President Julie Huang. "Power up Chinatown by sharing the list of participating Chinatown restaurants with your friends and colleagues. Post the list in your apartment buildings. Bring your power lunches, business dinners, meet and greets, fundraisers, board meetings, corporate retreats, sales meetings, staff appreciation dinners, birthday parties, bridal parties, weddings, out-of-town guests, families, children, first dates, and in-laws to our town. Tweet your photo of your Chinatown Restaurant Week visit and mention @ChinatownRW for a chance to win prizes."
