The fourth edition of New York Queer Tango Weekend, NYQTW, will offer an opportunity to the international Queer Tango community to convene in New York City, September 27-30, to hone their craft at workshops and master classes taught by the leading tango teachers, explore the endless variety of tango at milongas - tango social parties - and mix and mingle with the New York tango community.
Friends of Argentine Tango, a New York-based not-for-profit organization, will present awards to tango teachers and activists who have made important contributions to disseminating tango and creating a thriving tango community in the US and worldwide.
The NYQTW will offer a variety of lessons and master classes by a number of International leading teachers: Augusto Balizano, Carla Marano, Alejandro Villalobos, Karina Romero, Mariana Parma, Walter Perez & Leonardo Sardella.
The program will also include special tango social parties every night; performances by our featured artists - teachers, musicians, singers and DJs - will be the highlight of each event. The program continues at Julia de Burgos Latino Cultural Center, on Friday, 9/28 and The Special Milonga at All Night Milonga on Saturday 9/29 and concluding with the Farewell Milonga at Astoria Tango Club on Sunday, 9/30.
