NY Phil To Perform Dittersdorf, Wasserman, Kodály and Schumann, 2/27

The New York Philharmonic Ensembles, spotlighting Musicians from the Orchestra, continues its 2010-11 season on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at Merkin Concert Hall with a program that features Dittersdorf's Duo in E-flat major for Viola and Bass, Ron Wasserman's Quatrefoil, Kodály's Serenade for Two Violins and Viola and Schumann's Piano Trio No. 2 in F major.

The musicians will be Lisa Kim, Hyunju Lee and Yulia Ziskel, violin; Katherine Greene, Robert Rinehart and Rebecca Young, viola; Ru-Pei Yeh, cello; William Blossom and David J. Grossman, bass; Mindy Kaufman, flute; Nancy Allen, harp; and Helen Huang (guest artist), piano.

Since 1984 the Philharmonic Ensembles series has presented diverse programming of both classical masterpieces and modern compositions. Ensembles concerts are also offered on the Orchestra's international and domestic tours, on separate chamber music tours and at locations throughout New York City.

The program will be as follows:

DITTERSDORF Duo in E-flat major for Viola and Bass
Rebecca Young, viola; David J. Grossman, bass

Ron WASSERMAN Quatrefoil
Mindy Kaufman, flute; Katherine Greene, viola; William Blossom, bass; Nancy Allen, harp

KODÁLY Serenade for Two Violins and Viola
Lisa Kim, Hyunju Lee, violin; Robert Rinehart, viola

SCHUMANN Piano Trio No. 2 in F major
Yulia Ziskel, violin; Ru-Pei Yeh, cello; Helen Huang, piano
