NOVA Pride, Northern Virginia's largest and newest LGBTQ nonprofit organization, invites the entire community, regardless of whom or how they love or identify, to join them in paving "The Road Ahead" at the second annual Northern Virginia Pride Festival, to be held at Bull Run Special Events Center on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 12-9pm. In order to ensure the success of this important event, NOVA Pride has launched a social fundraising campaign through a partnership with Network for Good, and encourages those looking for a way to give back to the community to start a fundraiser to benefit LGBTQ Northern Virginians by visiting http://bit.ly/1LC7nr2.

The Northern Virginia Pride Festival provides a uniquely valuable forum for pro-equality businesses, local LGBTQ groups, and organizations in the community at-large to showcase their support for equality, and interface with the largest gathering of LGBTQ Northern Virginians in the region's history. This event is a celebration of the history, progress, and diversity of Northern Virginia's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community and its straight allies, with live entertainment, a wide variety of food and beverage options, and an abundance of outdoor activities. The event is family-friendly, with field games, picnic tables, a photo booth, karaoke, and prizes. This includes canine family members, offering an off-leash dog park and plenty of open air and grassy fields.

"Our theme for 2015 is meant to reinvigorate our focus on full equality; we've made huge strides over the past year, and we are recommitting our resolve to continue paving the path forward towards our vision of full LGBTQ equality and liberty," said Brian Reach, NOVA Pride President and Executive Director.

The 2015 festival is expected to double in size from its inaugural 2014 festival and draw over 5,000 in attendance, feature live musical performances and speakers, and showcase nearly 100 pro-equality businesses, retailers, organizations, and food trucks. Abundant free parking is available, and free shuttles are provided to transport attendees to and from the Vienna Metro throughout the day. Inova and NovaSalud, Inc. will provide free and confidential HIV and STD screening, consultation, and referrals.

NOVA Pride invites all interested sponsors, vendors, and performers to participate in this celebration; inquiries should be sent to sponsor(at)novapride(dot)org, vendor(at)novapride(dot)org, or entertainment(at)novapride(dot)org.

Hashtags being used for this event are: #novapride, #703pride, and #novapridefest.
