"Our story takes place simultaneously in the pre-World War Two era and in 2014, weaving together a scattered family's past and present, against the distant loom of the Holocaust." - shares director Kate Holland - "There is art history, mystery, and a heartbreaking decision that echoes across the generations."

A lost work of art. A family mystery. The provisions of a will entice three estranged sisters to their great-grandmother's Paris apartment, untouched since 1945. Guided by Clotho, one of the proverbial Fates, what will they find inside?

An intriguing exploration of fate, of loss, and of healing, No Provenance originates from the intertwining of three threads. The first thread arises from questions of family dynamics: playwrights Kate Holland and Caroline Prugh developed a story of three half-sisters who meet warily as adults. The second thread emerges from a curious, recent news story about a Jewish Frenchwoman who fled Paris during World War II. She never returned, but she kept paying rent on her apartment until her death in 2010. The apartment was recently opened up for the first time, and photos show it to be a time capsule from the 1930s. The final thread is a genuine historical mystery: "Clotho," a sculpture by the brilliant and troubled Camille Claudel, went missing from an art gallery sometime in the early 20th century, and it has never been found. These elements are brought together in the past and present by the spinner of threads, the Greek Fate Clotho herself.

The production stars Sarah Eismann as Marion, Carole Forman* as Clotho, Robyn Michele Frank as Ilana, Michelle Ramoni* (June and Nancy) as Suzanne, Libby Skala (LiLia!) as Josephine, Stephanie Taylor* as Orit and Renee Erikson as Marcelle.

The production features lighting design by Ashley Greiner, sound design by Justin Cornell and projection design by Matt Suter.
