No Man's Land, created by The Anthropologists, is a devised theatre piece, being presented for one night only at Dixon Place on June 17, 2016.

The Anthropologists' No Man's Land wrestles to the stage the story of American Dad, Jeremiah Heaton, who literally went to the "ends of the earth," planting a flag in an uninhabited plot of land nestled between Egypt and Sudan, all to make his daughter a true Princess. What begins as a fairy tale quickly exposes the dark underbelly of the American Dream, our culture's embedded racism and the power of privilege. Using our signature method of fusing source material and rigorous dramaturgy with original text and expressive movement, The Anthropologists' new devised work asks whose dreams deserve to be realized?

The Anthropologists is dedicated to the collaborative creation of investigative theatre that inspires action. Rooted in research and community engagement and shaped by contemporary dance and physical theatre techniques, we're committed to exploring current social topics from an anthropological perspective in order to break down and unleash cultural discoveries.

?Past provocations have included: "why do Americans need so much stuff?" (EXCESS - a dance play inspired by The Cherry Orchard) and "who gets access to food?" (GIVE US BREAD, hailed by nytheatre.com as "a thoroughly entertaining and thought provoking play mixing elements of dance and stylized movement to create a piece that is wholly within its own hybrid Anthropologists genre.")

Under the direction of Artistic Director, Melissa F. Moschitto, the company includes Mariah Freda, Jean Goto, Roy Koshy, and Sam West. The production team includes Laura Bernas (Assistant Director), Sarah Edkins (Scenic Design), Justin Stasiw (Sound Design), Carl Vorwerk (Visual Collaborator), Lynde Rosario (Dramaturgy), and Malini Singh McDonald (Producer).
