Now - November 20
Güler Ugur
Photography exhibit in the wild project's gallery
Free and open to the public during theater hours

An exhibit of the late photographer Güler Ugur's early work from the 1990s, when she had just arrived in NYC. The photos display the result of an act of vehicular violence that happened when driver Yosef Lifsh careened onto the sidewalk and killed a young boy named Gavin Cato on August 19, 1991. Ugur was present for the funeral, and captured the grief and pain of the community in the midst of the Crown Heights riots.

Tragically, Ugur also lost her life on New Years Eve in 2014 at the hands of an unlicensed hit-and-run driver. The exhibit opens six days after the driver's formal sentencing. A private, by-invitation-only screening of the documentary Killed by Auto: The Ephemeral Life of Guler Ugur and the Ubiquity of Vehicular Violence will also take place at the wild project.

COMING SOON:

Friday, December 2 - Saturday, December 17
ANNA CHRISTIE by Eugene O'Neill, directed by Peter Richards
With Therese Plaehn, Stephen D'Ambrose, Ben Chase, Tina Johnson and Scott Aiello
Performance schedule: Tue - Sat at 7:30pm, with added performances on Sun. 12/4 at 5pm & Mon. 12/12 at 7:30pm
Tickets: $15

Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie tells the story of a young woman's struggle for redemption and a chance at a new life. Harboring a troubling secret from her past, Anna reunites with her father - a captain, a master of the sea, and a man she hardly knows. As the wild and dangerous waters would have it, Anna meets a shipwrecked young sailor and the two fall in love. When she finds she can no longer hide her past from the two men in her life, the bonds of love are tested. A powerful and relevant retelling of O'Neill's masterpiece, the play continues to challenge our understanding of honor and dignity.

All performances are at the wild project (195 E. 3rd Street, between Avenues A & B). Tickets can be purchased online at www.thewildproject.com. The Box Office opens one hour prior to curtain.
