NFL Stars to Make Broadway Debuts in ROCK OF AGES During Super Bowl Week, 1/28-2/1

Producers of the five-time Tony Award-nominated Rock of Ages are pumped to announce that National Football League (NFL) superstars Randall Cobb, Joique Bell and Ahman Green will make their Broadway debuts as in the smash hit musical in the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII. With more names to be announced soon, the #BroadwayBlitz will be kicked off at The Helen Hayes Theater (240 W. 44th Street) on Tuesday, January 28 at the 7pm show with Green Bay Packer wide receiver Randall Cobb. Next on the roster is Detroit Lions running back Joique Bell at the 8pm show on Wednesday, January 29, followed by four-time Pro-Bowl running back Ahman Green at the matinee performance on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

The #BroadwayBlitz is just one of the exciting ventures Rock of Ages has planned in the lead up to Super Bowl XLVIII. As previously announced, the cast will perform on the Roman Numerals Stage of "Super Bowl Boulevard - Engineered by GMC" at 41st Street & Broadway on Thursday, January 30, and - during the final hours before kickoff - at the official NFL Tailgate Party at the Grandstand at Meadowlands Racetrack and Game Day Fan Plaza outside of MetLife Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday, February 2.

The events surrounding the Super Bowl are just one in a long line of the Broadway show's unprecedented relationships with professional athletes and sports fans. Over the years, the show has drawn pro athletes from near and far - including such names as Eli Manning, Mark Sanchez, Rob Gronkowski, Tim Tebow, Clay Matthews, Amar'e Stoudemire, David Lee, Miguel Cabrera, Mark Teixeira, Joe Nathan, Alex Rodriguez, Johnnie Damon, and many more - a movement which inspired ESPN commentator Skip Bayless to proclaim that Rock of Ages "has rocked the sports world and America!"

RANDALL COBB - TUESDAY, JANUARY 28 AT 7PM

NFL Wide Receiver Randall Cobb was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2nd round of the 2011 NFL Draft. In the opening game of that season, and the first of Cobb's career, he recorded his first NFL touchdown on a 32-yard reception in the first quarter, and followed up with a 108 yard kickoff return in the third quarter, tying the record for longest kickoff return in NFL history. That play was later named Play of the Year at the NFL Honors banquet. That same season, Cobb made an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings, becoming the first rookie in Packers history to return both a kick and a punt for a touchdown in the same season. Cobb followed up his rookie campaign with an 80 catch season in 2012, accounting for 954 yards and 8 touchdowns. In week 17 of the 2013 season, Cobb caught a 48-yard touchdown pass with under a minute to go - giving the Packers a win over the Chicago Bears and a playoff berth, and Cobb his second nomination for a Play of the Year award.

JOIQUE BELL - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29 AT 8PM

Joique Bell is an NFL running back for the Detroit Lions. He has played all 16 games of each of his two seasons with the Lions, totaling 1,064 rushing yards and 1,032 receiving yards for 11 touchdowns. He finished this 2013 season with 650 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns, in addition to having caught 53 passes for 547 yards, as he and teammate Reggie Bush (54 receptions, 506 yards) became the first running back tandem in NFL history to both top 500 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in a season. In 2012, his first season with the Lions, he totaled 414 rushing yards on 82 carries with 3 rushing touchdowns, as well as 52 receptions for 485 yards. 28 of his receptions went for first downs. Bell was first signed by the Buffalo Bills in 2010, and has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and New Orleans Saints.

AHMAN GREEN - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 AT 2PM

From the time he joined the Green Bay Packers in 2000, up through the end of the 2004 season, Green gained more yards from scrimmage (9,036) and rushing yards (6,848) than any other NFL player. In addition, he was selected to the NFL Pro Bowl every year from 2001 to 2004 and broke several franchise records. In 2003, he had his best year as a professional - setting the Green Bay franchise record by running for 1,883 yards in the regular season, leading the NFC in rushing, and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Year. Also during his time with the Packers, Green became one of two players in NFL history to have two touchdown runs of 90 or more yards (Bo Jackson is the other). On November 8, 2009 Green broke Jim Taylor's record to become the all-time leading rusher in Packer history.
