Women's activewear and lifestyle fashion brand NESH is taking the term "athleisure" to "athlux" with the launch of its new "Lush Cashmere" collection this fall. NESH continues to fuse the best elements of active and contemporary sportswear with the addition of four cashmere sweaters available in stores October 1.
The New York City label offers active apparel that transcends existing fashion forward fitness apparel. The cashmere tops are a natural progression for NESH and join the brand's luxe fabrics including high quality French terry, Modal, Tencel and washable silks. All Nylon and Poly-based fabrics are sweat wicking and Supplex, giving them the soft feel of cotton while maintaining the benefits of advanced fiber technology. Supple fabrics with expert design and a focus on fit allow the body to move, provide comfort and offer flattering shape.
The cashmere range will include a zip hoodie, a tunic, a sweatshirt and a ribbed cowl neck sweater, with retail prices ranging from $226-316. The color palette is classic NESH, featuring soft grey, dark heather, flecked black and black.
"I use sophisticated neutrals season after season so that all of your NESH pieces can layer nicely. I do not believe in fast fashion, so I want the fabrics to last and the colors to be timeless," says Bree Chambers, Creative Director and President of NESH.
Retailers have responded quickly and favorably to NESH's cashmere collection. The hoodie and cowl neck have been best sellers, shipping into high-end retailers like Ron Robinson/Fred Segal in Los Angeles and Bandier in New York. Chambers attributes the overwhelming success of the cashmere collection to the change in attitude about activewear.
"Now, after a Barre class, women want to thrown on a nice cashmere hoodie because they still have a lot to do in their day, and they want to do it looking stylish," says Chambers. "We aren't just creating activewear, we are offering women a collection that they can wear for everything they do in a day."
NESH is designed to be worn everywhere, recognizing that today's woman juggles career, family, life and fitness and needs apparel that transitions through these tasks. Launched in 2011, NESH has been perfecting fashionable apparel for active living since inception, focusing on fashion needs of chic, active women. Reaching beyond Spandex, NESH aims to cater to women who want the luxury of high-end fashion, but in a more wearable form that fits their active life. Feminine but sporty bralettes can be worn layered with a modal top, technical leggings featuring 4-way stretch and a cashmere hoodie for the ultimate street to gym look that is both functional and fashionable. Nearly every garment is made in New York, allowing Chambers to have complete control over production and creativity. Within hours, a design idea can become a tangible sample that can be quickly perfected for ultimate fit, quality and construction.
NESH is available online and at top retailers including Anthropologie, Calypso St. Barth, Fred Segal and Heist and at specialty fitness retailers including Carbon38, Equinox, Physique57 and Without Walls. The NESH line retails from $68 for bralettes to $139-$165 for leggings and $149-316 for tops, sweaters and jackets.
