UP Comedy Club has just the thing to keep you from crying in your green beer all night this St. Patrick's Day as it welcomes NBC's Undateable Tour to its stage. This one-night-only event features the cast of the new NBC show Undateable, including comedians Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, Ron Funches and Rick Glassman and is hosted by the show's co-creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence. Each comedian performs his own set, giving you a taste of the humor you can expect when Undateble premieres this spring. The Undateable Tour will be presented on Monday, March 17 at 7pm at the UP Comedy Club, located at 230 W. North Ave 3rd Floor of Piper's Alley, Chicago.
Chris D'Elia was 16 the first time he performed stand-up comedy. He would act up in church, so the pastor told him that he could do some time on stage afterwards if he behaved himself. Well, he didn't behave, but he was still allowed to get on stage in front of everyone.
His comedy is populated with characters and voices, perhaps due to his background in acting. Chris will be starring in NBC's upcoming Undateable and was recently seen co-starring in the NBC sitcom Whitney, opposite Whitney Cummings. He has also guest starred on shows such as Workaholics, Monk, Boston Legal, and the TBS series Glory Daze, among others. Chris has toured the United States with fellow comedian Jo Koy and opened for Carlos Mencia. He has performed his stand-up on Showtime's Live Nude Comedy and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham. Chris' half-hour Comedy Central Presents special aired in 2011 and his one-hour Comedy Central special White Male. Black Comic premiered in December 2013.
Brent Morin, Connecticut raised but LA based, worked for the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, and continues to work for the Conan show currently on TBS. He spent night after night since film school crafting his skills as a stand up, and eventually became a paid regular at every major club in Hollywood, including the Comedy Store, Improv and Laugh Factory. Brent can be seen frequently performing weekly on the best shows in LA, as well as colleges and other comedy clubs around the country. Brent also stars in the upcoming NBC comedy Undateable, produced by Bill Lawrence.
Ron Funches is a very funny stand-up comedian with a unique delivery and lovable demeanor. You just want to hug and squeeze him like a big stuffed bear. His easy going, inventive style sounds the way fresh chocolate chip cookies taste. Ron performs stand up all over the United States impressing audiences everywhere.
Ron's television appearances include recurring roles on Comedy Central's Kroll Show and Disney's Crash and Bernstein, a guest star role on Fox's New Girl, stand up performances on TBS's Conan, and Comedy Central's John Oliver's New York Standup Show. You can catch Ron in his series regular role on NBC's new show Undateable.
Rick Glassman starting performing comedy in Cleveland, Ohio in the late-2000s after completing his life-long dream of winning the Men's Intramural Basketball Championship at his alma mater, Kent State University. After an incredibly successful tour of local comedy clubs, coffee shops and community theater short-form improvisation shows, Rick packed up and moved to Los Angeles where he finally got his big break playing a waiter at a popular San-Fernando Valley Steak House. From there, his star has seemed to rise to astronomical levels.
Today, you may recognize him from his background work in Always Sunny in Philadelphia, his role as a wise-cracking newlywed in a spot for some local Chicago real-estate bank, or his many videos on a popular mobile-device-only video sharing app, one with over 1000 likes. Rick will also be starring on the upcoming Bill Lawrence multi-cam sitcom Undateable coming this fall to NBC, when some other show gets cancelled.
NBC's Undateable Tour is 90-minutes. The show starts at 7pm with doors opening at 6:15pm. Tickets are $25. Tickets for the UP Comedy Club can be purchased over the phone at (312) 662-4562 or online at www.upcomedyclub.com.
