NBC Cancels Sean Hayes' SEAN SAVES THE WORLD

Deadline reports that NBC has stopped production on its freshman comedy series SEAN SAVES THE WORLD, starring Sean Hayes. Twelve episodes have screened so far out of 18; 14 have been filmed. The network will make a decision about airing the final two episodes after the Winter Olympics.

"We like Sean Hayes' show a lot," said NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt at TCA last week, also referring to The Michael J. FOX Show, which like Hayes' series, has been struggling in the ratings. "Creatively, we think they're good shows, and we're really unhappy that we can't find an audience for them in those time periods."

Hayes' other TV credits include Smash, Up All Night, Parks and Recreation, Portlandia, Will & Grace, Scrubs and more. The actor recently appeared on Broadway in 2010, opposite Kristin Chenoweth in the comedy Promises, Promises.

Sean (Sean P. Hayes, "Will & Grace") is a divorced dad who juggles a lot - his successful but demanding career, offbeat employees, pushy mom Lorna (Linda Lavin, "Alice") and weekends with his teenage daughter, Ellie (Sami Isler). So when she moves in full-time, it's a whole new world.
