Barbra Streisand's "My Name is Barbra" will be one of the specials featured during a star-jammed pledge week on PBS that will kick off its holiday season. Other musical specials will showcase performances by Carly Simon, Benise, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Anka, Jim Brickman, Tom Jones, Ricky Nelson, Michael Buble, and a special called A Doo Wop Calvacade will also air during its pledge week from December 3rd through 11th.
One of several TV specials in the '60s and '70s to feature the iconic star, "My Name is Barbra" will air on Sunday, December 11, 2005, 10:30-12:00 p.m. ET (check local listings). "With a career spanning more than four decades, the sublime
vocal artistry of Barbra Streisand has thrilled audiences everywhere. Great Performances' 'My Name is Barbra' captures the electrifying early
years of the Streisand sensation with her first television outing in
the mid-60s. Conceptually dazzling and innovative, this vintage special
features Streisand performing 'Second Hand Rose,' 'Happy Days Are Here
Again,' 'People' and many more," according to press notes.

With a November 22nd release date, the DVD set encompasses "Color Me Barbra," "A Happening in Central Park," "The Belle
of 14th Street" and "Barbra Streisand...And Other Musical Instruments," as well as "My Name is Barbra."
The December line-up of music
specials will also feature "Benise: Nights of Fire." Starring guitarist Roni Benise, it will feature Broadway dancers, De La Guarda performers and featured soloists performing Spanish forms of music and dance. That special airs Sunday, December 11, 2005, 9:00-10:30 p.m. ET (check local listings).
