Wise Buddah and Mothership Management have announced the launch of Stage Door, a brand new on-demand radio service for fans of modern Musical Theatre. Shows will be presented by some of the biggest stars of the stage and will feature the greatest songs from the biggest show of London's West End and Broadway.

Stage Door will initially be a series of one hour programmes, that listeners will be able to stream live via Mixcloud across the globe. Each show will be presented by a star of West End theatre including; Louise Dearman (Wicked), Stephen Ashfield (The Book of Mormon), Alistair Brammer (Miss Saigon 2014), Killian Donnelly (Memphis), Richard Fleeshman (Ghost), Hadley Fraser (City of Angels), Alex Gaumond (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Lauren Samuels (We Will Rock You), Rachel Tucker (Sting's - The Last Ship) and Zoe Tyler, the West End legend!

In each programme, we'll hear songs that inspired each of our presenters, as well as some of the performances that made their career. We'll also be privy to some backstage secrets, and the moments our hosts would rather forget!

One of Stage Door's presenters, Alex Gaumond who has recently completed a run as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda said; "I'm delighted that Stage Door is finally being launched. Although there are a few radio services out there dedicated to musical theatre (which is a great thing), Stage Door will go one step further by bringing the fans closer to their favourite performers. I'm very proud to be part of this exciting new project and I look forward to sharing a few secrets on air. It feels great to know that the West End community will be opening up to a wider audience."

Between now and launch on 12th January 2015, Stage Door will be posting previews and surprises across it's channels, mixcloud.com/stagedoor/, facebook.com/stagedoortv and twitter.com/stagedoor_tv.

Around $1.27billion worth of tickets were sold in Broadway in 2014, and almost 14 million people saw a show in the West End last year. The team behind Stage Door believes Musical Theatre is still an under-represented genre on radio. The aim of Stage Door is to bring fans closer to the action - to build a direct link with the stars that bring their favourite roles to life.

Sara Sesardic, Stage Door Producer said, "It's so exciting to be working on this brand new service that brings the West End closer to the fans. My aim is to give the Stage Door audience the same type of buzz they get when they leave a great West End show. I just can't wait for the fans to hear what we've got in store too!"
