Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present a developmental workshop of THE SASQUATCH PROJECT tonight, with book by Nichole Jackson, lyrics by Brandon Michael Lowden and music by Scotty Arnold.
THE SASQUATCH PROJECT is a comedy about Remy McDonough, a snarky seventeen year old, her ancient neighbor (and nemesis) Mrs. Prokopenko, and the real live sasquatch they discover (his name is Glenn). With their forest threatened by a potential new Open Air Life Style center, Remy and Mrs. P are forced to put aside their differences and convince Glenn - who is wary of humans - that in order to stop the destruction and save the town, he must reveal himself to the world.
The musical was developed at The Fingerlakes Musical Theatre festival in summer 2012; it was subsequently presented at Musical Theatre Factory as part of their 4x15 series in June 2014 and as a developmental residency this past fall.
The cast features Lily Ali-Oshatz (Mrs. P), Jeanine Frumess (Remy), Rafi Fuentes (Nurse Franklin), Kaitlyn Miles (Jeannette), Wesley Miller (Glenn), Mary Regan (Opal) and Hana Slevin (Shawna).
THE SASQUATCH PROJECT takes place June 4 at 8pm at 250 W. 40th St., 4th Floor and June 14 & 21 at an outdoor workshop location TBA. Admission on June 4 is $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Admission to the outdoor workshop presentations on June 14 &21 is free. Please visit mtf.nyc for additional information.
