Music-Theatre Group has announced that they will present Douglas J. Cuomo and Friends, in a special jazz concert, on Thursday, June 3 at 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM, at Music-Theatre Group @ OneArmRed (10 Jay Street, 9th Floor, DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY). Best known for his compositions for film and television (including the now iconic theme for Sex and the City, in the major motion picture Sex and the City 2 which opens nationwide on Friday), Douglas J. Cuomo (on guitar) will lead his all-star band through an evening of jazz interpretations of selections from his body of work, including the aforementioned iconic theme. He will be joined by saxophonist Bob Franceschini, pianist Mark Soskin, drummer Robby Ameen, and bassist David Ephross. Tickets are $15, and are available night-of, at the door only.

Music-Theatre Group (MTG), led by Producing Director Diane Wondisford, occupies the unique space between music theatre and opera. MTG generates original work by telling stories driven by music, in experimental forms and interdisciplinary combinations, offering artists the opportunity to carefully and thoughtfully create new work in a safe, collaborative environment.

Partnership, mentoring, space, support, and more than 30 years of experience are among the resources that MTG provides its artists. Internationally renowned for its commitment to the creation of work that embraces new art forms, MTG has produced a stunning roster of fully integrated music-theatre works - ranging from chamber-sized to full-scale.

Douglas J. Cuomo has composed highly acclaimed and original music for concert and theatrical stages, television, and film. His music, with influences from jazz, world music, classical, and popular sources, is as personal, distinctive, and recognizable as it is wide-ranging. His compositions range from well-known television themes - for Sex and the City and Now with Bill Moyers, among others - to evening-length works for theater, including Arjuna's Dilemma, an opera-oratorio based on the story of the Bhagavad Gita.
