The All Stars Project will hold its National Gala Benefit entitled: "Changing the Meaning of Fame" - on Tuesday April 21, at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, Broadway at 64th Street; cocktails at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.

The event will induct the first members into the ALL STARS PROJECT'S HALL OF FAME, including Mr. and Mrs. James Turley, Ernst and Young, Hunter Hunt, Hunt Oil and C. Michael Armstrong, and Ernst & Young and D&B for the significant investments they have made in the growth and development of inner-city youth through All Stars Project programs over the last decade.

The 2009 Bridge Building Award for Leadership in Community Relations will be presented to youth leaders of the Ramaz School and the All Stars Project by Howard Teich, Esq, past president of the American Jewish congress of the NY Metropolitan Region. The young people have been working together through the recently established All Stars Project program "Together and Giving Back" which brings together African-American, Latino and Jewish Youth from NYC and NJ to create new kinds of performances both on stage and off. Partners also include Congregation Rodeph Sholom, the Anti-Defamation League, the Metro West Jewish Community Center, and the Children's Jewish Museum.

The Gala will be hosted by Kemberly Richardson of ABC Eyewitness News. Special guests will include two time Tony Award winner, Donna Murphy, and Tony-nominated actress and All Stars alumnus, Daphne Rubin-Vega, the founding director of the New Federal Theater, Woodie King, Jr., and Bill Thompson, New York City's Comptroller.

The gala will feature an excerpt from an original performance created in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, by the young people from Ramaz School and the All Stars as well as hip hop, rap and dance performances by the youth of the ASP of New York and the ASP of New Jersey.

Four hundred and fifty business leaders will attend, and youth representatives from New York City, and Newark, NJ will perform and host the festivities.
