Acclaimed Israeli novelist Yael Hedaya (Eden, Accidents: A Novel) was one of the main writers for the Israeli television series Be-tipul (In Treatment), which was the basis of the popular HBO show. On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. Museum of the Moving Image will present a discussion with Hedaya about the creation and development of the original series, and the exploration of therapy and relationships in her novels, stories, and screenplays. A complete episode of Be-tipul will be screened, followed by a conversation moderated by Chief Curator David Schwartz.
The program is presented in collaboration with the PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature.
Hedaya's novel Accidents was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award in 2006. She is currently teaching creative writing at the Tel Aviv University and the Open University, and screenwriting at Sapir College.
