Come experience her powerful voice in this highly intimate setting on Wednesday, 9/3. Morgan recently released HUNTER on June 3, 2014, her debut studio album of original soul tunes on Epic Records. Classic and modern: horns, full band, lush and funky. A true labor of love, James assumed co-writing duties on eight of the album's eleven tracks, and even performed all of her own background vocals and harmonies. Says James, "I want people to walk away from this album feeling fulfilled. That's the way it used to be. Often, I think I'm from another time. I just want to bring back the power of the singular legacy voice." Come see why she has been hailed by The New York Times as "...a phenomenal talent whose feel for classic soul music is bone deep... this woman is on fire." "Sexy and charming, Morgan James is a multi-talented performer. Listening to her new album Hunter is pure delight. She can do it all." -Berry Gordy, Jr."
Morgan James performs at SubCulture on September 3 at 8 PM.
