The line-up of Tony-nominated musicals from which numbers will be sung includes Monty Python's Spamalot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Light in the Piazza, Sweet Charity, and La Cage Aux Folles. Songs from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Women, All Shook Up, Avenue Q, Brooklyn: The Musical, Fiddler on the Roof, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Rent, The Phantom of The Opera, and The Producers will also be performed. All performances are subject to change.The annual Star Award will be presented at this year's Broadway's Stars in the Alley to Joel Klein, Chancellor, Department of Education for the City of New York for his support for Broadway theatre by Gerald Schoenfeld, Chairman and Jed Bernstein, President of The League of American Theatres and Producers, Inc.Broadway's Stars in the Alley is produced by the League of American Theatres and Producers, and presented by Continental Airlines, "The Official Airline of Live Broadway." The official sponsors are Sprint and The New York Times, and additional support comes from the New York Marriott Marquis, and Broadway Previews.
The concert, which is expected to last for approximately an hour and a half, is located west of Broadway between 44th and 45th Streets.
