More Names Added to Broadway's Stars in the Alley Line-Up on June 1

Yet more names have been added to the line-up of luminaries in Broadway's Stars in the Alley, the outdoor concert that will feature the stars of some of Broadway's most popular musicals performing musical numbers in Shubert Alley on June 1st. The free event is at 11 AM, and is timed to lead into the Tony Awards.

Jennifer Barnhart, Barrett Foa and Rick Lyon (Avenue Q), Gary Beach (La Cage Aux Folles), Carolee Carmello (Mamma Mia!), Kyra DaCosta and Janine LaManna (Sweet Charity), Raul Esparza, Erin Dilly, Ellen Marlow and Henry Hodges (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Jenn Gambatese, Cheyenne Jackson, Leah Hocking and Mark Price (All Shook Up), Tim Martin Gleason and Sandra Joseph (The Phantom Of The Opera), Cherry Jones (Doubt), Elizabeth Parkinson and John Selya (Movin' Out), Angie Schworer (The Producers) and Mary Testa (Chicago) have signed on to lend their talents to the proceedings. John Lithgow, Joanna Gleason, Norbert Leo Butz and Sheri Rene Scott (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Christopher Sieber and Sara Ramirez (Monty Python's Spamalot), Leslie Uggams (On Golden Pond), Harvey Fierstein and Andrea Martin (Fiddler on the Roof), Sutton Foster (Little Women), Christine Ebersole and Lily Rabe (Steel Magnolias), Richard Kind and Roger Bart (The Producers), Matthew Morrison and Kelli O'Hara (The Light in the Piazza), Tom Wopat and Frederick Weller (Glengarry Glen Ross), Frenchie Davis (Rent), Bruce Vilanch (Hairspray), and Ben Vereen and Rue McLanahan (Wicked) have already been announced as participating performers and hosts.

The line-up of Tony-nominated musicals from which numbers will be sung includes Monty Python's Spamalot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Light in the Piazza, Sweet Charity, and La Cage Aux Folles. Songs from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Women, All Shook Up, Avenue Q, Brooklyn: The Musical, Fiddler on the Roof, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Rent, The Phantom of The Opera, and The Producers will also be performed. All performances are subject to change.

The annual Star Award will be presented at this year's Broadway's Stars in the Alley to Joel Klein, Chancellor, Department of Education for the City of New York for his support for Broadway theatre by Gerald Schoenfeld, Chairman and Jed Bernstein, President of The League of American Theatres and Producers, Inc.

Broadway's Stars in the Alley is produced by the League of American Theatres and Producers, and presented by Continental Airlines, "The Official Airline of Live Broadway." The official sponsors are Sprint and The New York Times, and additional support comes from the New York Marriott Marquis, and Broadway Previews.

The concert, which is expected to last for approximately an hour and a half, is located west of Broadway between 44th and 45th Streets.
