More casting has been announced for an upcoming Los Angeles production of Urinetown starring Tony Award-winner John Rubinstein in the role of villainous toilet tycoon Caldwell B. Cladwell.
The show is produced by the Interact Theatre Company, and features the original book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, and music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann. It will be directed by Calvin Remsberg, with choreography by Tracy Powell. Urinetown won 2002 Tony Awards' for Best Score, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical.
Rubinstein is a Tony Award-winner for his performance in Children of a Lesser God, and also won a Theatre World Award for creating the title role of Pippin. Other Broadway credits include Ragtime, Getting Away with Murder, Love Letters, M. Butterfly and Hurlyburly. He is also a noted film and TV actor; he received an Emmy nomination for his work in "Family."
