Monsterpiece Theater Collective's Hamlet Importance of Being Earnest takes a new look at Shakespeare's classic through the eyes of Hamlet himself as he struggles with grief and betrayal. Played by Jessica Cannizzaro, Hamlet is both fierce and vulnerable clinging to the memory of his father and the remnants of a relationship with his mother played by Sarah Quigley. With new music by the Shirtwaist Sisters and directed by Anthony D. Pound this journey into the mind of debilitating anguish and the turbulence that is left in its wake will engage and surprise even the most diehard Shakespeare fans.

Performances are March 20-21 and March 25-28 at 8:00 p.m., with matinee performances March 21, 22, 28, and 29th at 2:00 p.m. All performances are at The Beckmann Theater 314 W. 54th St., 2ndfloor. Tickets are general admission and cost $20.00 at brownpapertickets.com

The remainder of the cast includes John Amir as the new King, Claudius and Christopher Callahan as his trusted advisor Polonius. Lizzy Jarret and Alexander Pepperman as Ophelia and Laertes, Artem Kreimer as Horatio, and Amiee Marcell and Charlie Coursey as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern round out this exciting ensemble.
