Cheyenne Jackson, who was originally to have starred in the title role of Ace, a new musical being presented at the National Alliance for Musical Theater's Festival of New Musicals, has been replaced by Adam Monley.

It was previously announced that All Shook Up's Jackson, who bowed out due to last minute scheduling conflicts, would join Christiane Noll, Lisa Howard and Scott Coulter, but now Monley will take on the role of a World War II Ace fighter pilot who guides a troubled 10-year-old boy on a series of dream adventures in 1952 Saint Louis.

Monley recently completed the critically acclaimed national tour of Deaf West's Big River as the voice of Huck Finn. Monley was also an original cast member of Broadway's Mamma Mia! and was seen in the Lincoln Center presentation of South Pacific.

Ace,
with music by Richard Oberacker and lyrics and book by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, is one of eight new musicals being presented in excerpted staged readings at the annual NAMT Festival of New Musicals. The 45 minute presentation will be performed on Monday Sept 26th at 11:15 AM and 5:00 PM at Dodger Stages Theater 3.

The primary audience for the festival is an invited list of NAMT members, however free general admission seating is available to the public on a first come, first served basis.

An extensive, orchestrated demo recording of the complete score to Ace is currently widely circulating in the industry. It features Matt Bogart in the title role with Noll and Coulter creating the roles they will sing at the Festival on Sept 25th. The recording also features Julia Murney in the role of Elizabeth. The CD will be made available to all attendees of the Festival performance.
