Following a fire on Sunday morning at the Mogador Theatre, the opening of The Phantom of the Opera - or, when in Paris, Fantôme de l'Opéra - has been cancelled.

Though the show was expected to open on 13th October, some elements of the set have been damaged. Experts are currently assessing how best to restore the set, but no opening date has yet been set and the Mogador Theatre is currently closed to the public.

Those who have already bought tickets are advised to speak directly with their ticket-source for reimbursement, or they can call: + 33 (0) 53 33 45 30 for tickets bought directly through www.lephantomdelopera.com or at the theatre cashier.

Laurence Bentate, the Managing Director of Stage Entertainment, stated:

"The 150 artists, musicians, technical and administrative staff from Stage Management France and the Mogador Theatre working on the production altogether thank the public and the professionals who sent numerous messages of sympathy.

"Our link to The Phantom remains strong and we all stay ready and united to give the theatre back to its audiences."

This production, which is headlined by Sierra Boggess, will surely be even more anticipated for such delays.
