The Museum of Modern Art's Party in the Garden, a benefit event to be held on June 2, will honor artists Richard Serra and Kara Walker, with a special salute to David Rockefeller on his 100th birthday.

With over 70 of Serra's works in its collection and three monographic exhibitions, including a career retrospective in 2007 (Richard Serra Sculpture: Forty Years), the Museum is delighted to celebrate its long and deep relationship with the artist and his work.

MoMA is also happy to honor Kara Walker, who was first exhibited at MoMA in the Projects Series in 2000, and has a monumental work currently on view in the Museum's Contemporary Galleries as a part of the exhibition Scenes for a New Heritage: Contemporary Art from the Collection.

The evening will also feature a special salute to David Rockefeller, whose guidance and unwavering support have been instrumental to the history of the Museum.

Co-chairs of the event are Agnes Gund, Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder, Catie and Donald Marron, and Janet Wallach and Robert B. Menschel. Honorary co-chairs are Marie-Josée Kravis and Jerry I. Speyer.

Party in the Garden features an exclusive headline performance from The Weeknd, the Grammy Award-nominated and critically acclaimed multiplatinum R&B artist. Following 2012's Trilogy [XO/Republic Records], Kiss Land debuted at #1 on the iTunes Chart in 2013. "Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)," his contribution to the Fifty Shades of Grey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack [Republic Records], just achieved double platinum status. He teamed up with Ariana Grande for "Love Me Harder," which was #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and he recently capped off Coachella 2015 to rave reviews. His performance at Party in the Garden will take place in MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden as part of the gala's After-Party, which runs from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.

Party in the Garden benefits the Annual Fund of The Museum of Modern Art and the maintenance of The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. The event also supports the Museum's general operating fund, helping to make possible the Museum's education programs and the care, study, and exhibition of its collection.

Tables at the dinner range from $25,000 to $100,000, with individual tickets beginning at $2,500. Tickets to the After-Party only are $225 in advance and $250 at the door. VIP tickets for the After-Party are $525, which grants the ticketholder access to The Modern from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. Tickets may be purchased by visiting MoMA.org/partyinthegarden2015, calling MoMA's Department of Special Programming and Events at (212) 708-9680, or e-mailing specialevents@moma.org.
