Misty Copeland, Principle Dancer of American Ballet Theatre and recently seen making her Broadway debut in ON THE TOWN, is among the performers scheduled to appear at the Shinnyo Lantern Floating for Peace, a free outdoor event held on Sunday, September 20th, at Lincoln Center Plaza.

Beginning at 1pm, members of the public are invited to inscribe a personal message of peace on a paper lantern and set it afloat on the Milstein Pool, while enjoying dance and music performances by Decoda Music, The Dalton School Chorus, students of The LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts and Performing Arts, Djembe African Drumming Ensemble, DecaDance and NYC buskers. There will be a special evening ceremony starting at 7pm, led by Her Holiness Shinso Ito, and featuring a special performance by Misty Copeland.
