The Weight, a new play by Zac Kline (Messed Up Here Tonight, Big Star California), will be presented in a staged reading March 23rd at 7 PM at Chelsea Studios. Directed by Matthew Klein (Artistic Associate at The New Group), the cast includes with Blair Baker (Oleanna, Broadway/Mark Taper Forum), William Forber, Allison Hirschlag, Emily Olson (Together This Time, NYC Fringe Festival), Dan Stern, Conor Stratton, and Peter Zimmermann. It is produced by NYC's Missing Bolts Productions.
New York City. 12 am to 6 am. A high school party. In The Weight, a group of life long friends come to a crossroads as they must examine their own lives and their lives of their friends in order to embrace adulthood and finally leave childhood behind.
Zac Kline's credits include a sold-out site-specific run of his play Messed Up Here Tonight in New York City last winter at and Together This Time at the New York International Fringe, Lucille Lortel Theatre. Matthew Klein is the founder and Artistic Director of The Mekka Collective, producing festivals and workshops all over NYC since 2008. He is also currently the Artistic Associate with The New Group.
